Weekend tuition in Walthamstow
Face-to-face English, Maths and Science for ages 5–16. Every Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 1pm, at Walthamstow Academy on Billet Road.
Every child starts with a free assessment. No cost, no obligation.
Why parents choose us
We are a small weekend centre, not a franchise and not an app. Here is what that means in practice.
Face-to-face tuition
Every lesson is taught in person at Walthamstow Academy. No video calls and no recorded lessons — a tutor in the room with your child.
Small groups, DBS-checked tutors
Qualified tutors teaching English, Maths and Science, in groups small enough that nobody gets to sit quietly at the back.
Bespoke study material
We write our own worksheets and booklets, matched to the National Curriculum and to each year group, not photocopied from a workbook.
Regular assessment and feedback
Students are assessed regularly and parents receive written reports, so you can see progress rather than having to take our word for it.
What we teach
Three core subjects, from the very start of primary school through to GCSE.
English
Reading comprehension, creative and formal writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation, set texts, and GCSE English Language and Literature.
Maths
Number and place value, fractions, algebra, geometry, ratio and proportion, statistics, and full GCSE Foundation and Higher preparation.
Science
Biology, Chemistry and Physics, plus the practical skills examiners award marks for, up to GCSE Combined and Separate Sciences.
How it works
Three steps, and the first one is free.
Book a free assessment
We sit down with your child and find out where they actually are — not where the school report says they are. No cost and no obligation.
We place them in the right group
Groups are set by year and by ability, so the work is pitched at the right level from the first lesson rather than three weeks in.
You get written reports
Regular assessments and written feedback, so you can see progress over the term and know exactly what to work on at home.
Monthly packages
One monthly fee, per subject, based on how many lessons a week your child attends. No registration fee and no charge for materials.
Thinking about grammar schools?
Waltham Forest has no grammar schools of its own, so every application is an out-of-borough one — and each school runs its own test on its own timetable.
Our free 11+ guide sets out the schools within reach of E17, which test each one uses, the qualifying scores, and the two separate deadlines that families most often miss.
- The Latymer School — Enfield, co-ed. E17 postcodes are inside its catchment.
- Woodford County High — Redbridge, girls. Joint Redbridge 11+.
- Ilford County High — Redbridge, boys. Same Redbridge test.
- Queen Elizabeth’s, Barnet — boys. No catchment at all: score only.
