A weekend tuition centre run by people who teach
Tuition Republic is a face-to-face tuition centre in Walthamstow, teaching English, Maths and Science to children aged 5 to 16 every Saturday and Sunday morning.
Our story
We founded Tuition Republic in Walthamstow because we kept meeting parents in the same position: a child who was capable, a school class of thirty, and no realistic way for a teacher to give them the attention they needed that week.
So we built the thing we would have wanted. Small groups. Qualified, DBS-checked tutors who know the National Curriculum properly. Our own written materials rather than a photocopied workbook. And weekends, because that is when families actually have the time.

What sets us apart
Three things we will not compromise on, whatever else changes.
Face-to-face tuition
Every session is taught in person at Walthamstow Academy. A tutor can see when a child has stopped following, and can stop and fix it there and then. A screen cannot.
Bespoke study material
We write our own worksheets and booklets in house, matched to the National Curriculum and to each year group, so the work in front of your child is the work they need next.
Regular assessment and feedback
Students are assessed regularly and parents receive written reports. You should never have to guess whether tuition is working.
Where we are, and when
We teach inside Walthamstow Academy on Billet Road — a real school building, with real classrooms, a few minutes from Blackhorse Road and Walthamstow Central.
- Saturday and Sunday, 10am – 1pm
- Open every weekend of the year, apart from Christmas
- Ages 5–16, Key Stage 1 through to GCSE
- English, Maths and Science — AQA, Edexcel and OCR
